Synopsis:
To create this spectacular coffee table book, we hiked the entire 2660-mile Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. Living in the wilderness for over five months, Chris photographed the starkly beautiful deserts of southern California, the deep blue alpine lakes and snow capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the volcanoes and lush forests of Oregon and Washington. The journey was challenging, inspiring, and visually stunning.

Chris’s landscape photographs portray the essence of each section of the Pacific Crest Trail. Every image is powerful. Viewed in sequence, these photographs take you on a journey through some of the most beautiful and compelling landscapes in the world.

“Between the first photo of the fence dividing Mexico and the U.S. and the last photo of the clear-cut border between the U.S. and Canada, this book carries the reader along an epic voyage. Therein lies the beauty of photography; it aids when words aren’t enough to encapsulate an experience. Perfect for the coffee table or moments when inspiration is needed, Pacific Crest Trail offers a reminder of why we explore.” — National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Magazine

“Pacific Crest Trail is a stunning visual trek into the still-Wild West as John Muir experienced it more than a century ago, from unchanged deserts to the Sierra’s granite-bound lakes to the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. Few of us will ever undertake this epic adventure, but this book might just inspire you to do it. A great gift for anyone who loves the great outdoors!” — David D. Schmidt, owner and guide, California Nature Tours
